TARLAC CITY -- For the second consecutive year, Maliwalo High School topped the Consumer Welfare Month Provincial On-the-Spot Poster Making contest of Department of Trade and Industry in Tarlac.

Grade 10 student Jesus Angelo Yabut bested 21 other junior high school students and took home a certificate of recognition, trophy, and P3,000 worth of gift certificates.

Lea Mae Fernando from Cristo Rey High School placed second and took home a certificate of recognition and P2,000 worth of gift certificates while Joyce Anne Nievo from Tarlac National High School – Main finished third and received a certificate of recognition plus P1,000 worth of gift certificates.

“Ipinakita ko po dun sa poster na gawa ko na kahit hi-tech or nasa digital age na po tayo, nahi-highlight pa rin po yung karapatan ng bawat mamimili (My poster showed that even in this digital age, consumer rights are still highlighted)," Yabut said.

This year’s celebration carried the theme “Consumer Rights in the Digital Age.”

“As a trainer, I’m so proud of Angelo and one thing that I saw on him is patience and unique style as a young artist. We are so happy because we also won last year and for the second time, we are privileged to represent the province of Tarlac in the regional contest,” Coach Gerome Salcedo shared. (PIA)
