A 40-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on Thursday morning, January 4, after he set the motorcycle of his neighbor on fire in Barangay Malhiao, Badian, Cebu.

Senior Police Officer 1 Melvin Collados identified the suspect as Roger Zabate.

Collados said Zabate used dried coconut leaves in setting ablaze Miraflor Taboada's motorcycle worth P64,000.

After his arrest, Zabate did not tell the reason behind the incident.

"Maayo man siya motubag, pero taas ang panahon nga maghilom-hilom lang siya," said Collados.

Taboada told the police that she is confused by Zabate's action, saying she did not know why the suspect became mad at her.

Zabate will face arson complaint before the provincial prosecutor's office. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
