Man dead in shooting incident in Mambaling, Cebu

A 22-YEAR-OLD man was killed by an unidentified gunman past 11 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Police identified the victim as Jonel Alindao from Duljo-Fatima, who succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head.

Senior Police Officer 2 Ruth Violango, homicide investigator, said the victim was sleeping when he was shot by an unidentified gunman.

The perpetrator ran toward two other men waiting for him near the crime scene. They later fled on foot and entered the interior portion of Mambaling.

Violango said her team learned that Alindao often scolded street children. An adult relative of one the children possibly got mad at him and planned the murder.

At 3 a.m. Friday, April 28, an unidentified man believed to be a seller of stolen cell phones was shot dead on P. Lopez St., Cebu City.
