A 20-YEAR-OLD man was killed after his head accidentally got caught in a dangling telephone wire while driving his motorcycle with his girlfriend in Barangay Poblacion, Talisay City last Thursday night.

Philip Carlo Lao and Niña Marie Delfino were on their way home when they passed an unlit alley on Uldog St. Lao didn’t notice the dangling wire.

Lao was brought to the Talisay District Hospital but died.

SPO1 Junard Chiong of the Talisay City Traffic Division said that the telephone wire may have been dragged by a truck.

Barangay Poblacion chief Teodoro Belleza said that a container van recently passed by the area.

Chiong also said they are not discounting the possibility that Lao may have been driving his motorcycle fast and didn’t notice the dangling wire.

The village chief admitted that they’ve been receiving complaints concerning the lack of lights in the area.
