A man lost more than P20,000 to an unidentified man who approached and asked him how to rent a car in Metro Compound, Barangay Alang-alang, Mandaue City.

Jayrick Ondong Mata, 23, said the man snatched his wallet containing P20,000.

Mata said that the suspect’s car engine conked out and the snatcher asked if he could borrow P1,800 from him.

He also took Mata’s cellphone worth P1, 600.

The man fled after he got Mata’s valuables.
