Man shot dead by riding-in-tandem in Kamputhaw

A MAN was shot and killed by a motorcycle-riding men in Sitio Kawayan, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City, around 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16.

The victim was identified as Edward Cassil, 43, who was from Bohol but temporarily residing in Kamputhaw.

Initial investigation revealed that Cassil was drinking at the roadside when the two men onboard a motorcycle arrived. The backrider disembarked from the motorcycle and shot the victim, who was hit in his left chest, right part of the body, and his left leg.

Cassil died on the spot. The suspects then fled the scene.

Recovered from the crime scene were two empty shells of caliber .45 and one undetermined slug.

According to the victim's girlfriend, Cassil told her a week ago that he had a verbal tussle with someone, but the victim did not mention a name. (Quincy Jones Adriano, USJR intern/Sunnex)
