MANILA - Relatives of some of the Maguindanao massacre victims walked out of the courtroom at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Quezon City Wednesday as the gory video of the excavation of the Maguindanao massacre victims was shown.

The footage of the bloated bodies of the massacre victims unearthed from the shallow pits taken by Jerry Atanoso, who is from Sultan Kudarat provincial government, was presented as the bail hearing of Andal Ampatuan Jr. resumed Wednesday.

Families of the victims who couldn't take the video cried as they left the courtroom, while Andal Ampatuan Jr. watched blankly on the screen and was even caught yawning at times.

Atanoso was the third witness presented by the government prosecutors after National Bureau of Investigation official Ric Diaz and Ampatuan town Vice Mayor Rasul Sangki.

Atanoso was the first to take footage of the massacre scene in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao. (Sunnex)
