Mayor wants sports complex rehab completed soon

John Dave N. Casas

ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has appealed to the contractors through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to fast track the ongoing rehabilitation of the Mayor Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex.

Salazar, who made a surprise inspection of the sports complex rehabilitation projects Wednesday, said she wanted the project to be completed by September this year.

Salazar was not satisfied with the slow pace of the implementation of the rehabilitation project.

Salazar was particularly concerned about the unpredictable weather conditions that have caused unnecessary delays to the already delayed completion of the project.

The DPWH earlier announced that the rehabilitation of the sports complex would be completed October 2017 but it failed due to delayed arrival of the imported rubberized materials from Germany.

Then the target completion date was moved to December last year, but just the same it failed.
