CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The municipal mayors in the province on Thursday agreed to allocate at least one percent of their internal revenue allotments (IRA) for the anti-illegal drug campaigns of their respective law enforcement authorities.

Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco said the intended funds will be used by the police for anti-drug operations.

“Yung iba pa ngang mayors sobra pa dyan ang ibinibigay sa mga pulis para sa peace and order at kampanya laban sa droga,” he added.

Tetangco, however, stated that there will be another meeting of all the mayors in the province to finalize the proposal and ensure the success of the campaign against illegal drugs.

“Yung hepe ko, sobra dyan ang ibinibigay ko. Lagi akong larga sa kanya,” Sta. Ana Mayor Rommel Concepcion said.

Meanwhile, Arayat Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino said he would support the proposal as the same would benefit their constituents and the town in general.

Floridablanca Mayor Eddie Guerrero suggested to Gov. Lilia Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda to provide counterpart funding to widen the operation on illegal drugs.

“Kung magbibigay kami ng isang milyon, pwedi ba tapatan din ito ng isang milyon ng kapitolyo?” Guerrero asked.
