THE police launched intelligence operations to unmask two men riding on a motorcycle behind the botched grenade attack at a police station in Zamboanga del Norte.

Zamboanga del Norte Police Director Edwin Wagan said the incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at the police station of Sirawai town.

Wagan said two unidentified men riding on a motorcycle passed in front of the police station and tossed a hand grenade and sped off to unknown direction.

Wagan said no one was either killed or wounded since the grenade failed to explode.

Head of Sirawai police Chief Inspector Malahay said they are conducting a thorough probe over the incident in a bid to unmask the suspects’ identities.

He said they have coordinated with the military unit based in Sirawai for the conduct of a joint intelligence monitoring in tracking down the suspects.
