MANILA -- Areas in Metro Manila and Calabarzon region will be experiencing a rotational brownout between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, according to the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).

In its advisory, Meralco explained that the reports of limited transmission capability of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP) transmission lines resulted to a load curtailment in Meralco’s franchise area.

A tentative three to four hours brownout will be implemented in some parts of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Metro Manila and Rizal from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Meralco assured that the line restoration efforts of NGCP are ongoing to improve the power situation. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
