CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) will deploy more mining engineers and geologists in the Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (Cenros) of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

“The move is part of DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu’s program of empowering and strengthening the enforcement capabilities of Penros and Cenros in handling mining and environmental issues and concerns at the ground level,” MGB Regional Director Alilo Ensomo Jr. said.

Ensomo added that MGB will start recruiting applicants who are graduates of geology, mining engineering and environmental science courses this January.

“Those recruited will be given contractual appointments and will undergo training/orientation on mining laws before their deployment in Cenros next month,” Ensomo added. (PIA-Central Luzon)
