MICROSOFT Philippines recently launched the Microsoft i-Cafe Program in an effort to help enhance the operations of local internet cafes and make them more profitable.
“Internet cafes play an essential role in Philippine society. A large percent of the population rely on Internet cafes for their IT access. These establishments allow Filipino
users to experience the benefits of technology in an affordable way,” said John Bessey, managing director of Microsoft Philippines.
“With the i-Cafe program, we have an opportunity to empower these Internet cafes by providing them with tools that can help them run their businesses better and
improve their service to their customers,” Bessey said.
Through the i-Cafe program, qualified Internet cafe owners will get access to business templates ranging from financial guides to marketing templates as well as metering tools that will help them monitor the usage of their PCs.
Eligible Internet cafes can avail themselves of a special promo: they can buy Microsoft licenses at special rates—Windows 7 licenses at the suggested retail price of P2,299 and Microsoft Office Professional at P999. This promo will run only until May 26.
“It’s important for us to use genuine software in our stores because we want to avoid business risks brought about by unlicensed software. Using original Microsoft software in our Internet cafe enables us to offer the best value to our customers,” said James Esmundo, business operations manager of b_connected, an Internet cafe with branches around Metro Manila.
