SOUTH American beauty Katherine Espin scored a coveted seat to witness President Rodrigo Duterte's second State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, July 24.

The Ecuador native and reigning Miss Earth 2016 shared the invitation she personally received from Congress.

Espin said it was an honor to enter the halls of the House of Representatives.

"It's a privilege indeed to attend President Duterte's 2nd Sona. My hope and dreams are with the Philippines, my second home!," she wrote in an Instagram post.

The beauty queen also strut the Sona red carpet in her black terno made by Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino.

The 25-year-old Espin was hailed Miss Earth 2016 in October of last year at the pageant held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

She bested 82 other entrants and was personally crowned by Filipina and Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong. (SunStar Philippines)
