A TEAM from the National Police Commission (Napolcom)-Western Visayas named the Best City and Municipal Police Stations for the Year 2013 during the exit briefing Tuesday at Camp Alfredo Montelibano as part of the annual inspection, management, audit, and monitoring of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Kabankalan City Police Station led by its chief commander Superintendent Calixto Mabugat was hailed as the Best City Police Station, while Don Salvador Benedicto Municipal Police Station headed by its acting chief-of-police Celjun Nemenio was named as the Best Municipal Police Station.

According to Police Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr., public information officer of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial office, Regional Director lawyer Marte Palomar led the Napolcom inspectors.

This is the first time in Western Visayas that the Napolcom gives an award for the best city and municipal category. The purpose of this inspection is to know the strengths and weaknesses of the PNP in fighting criminalities, said Palomar in a press release sent to Sun.Star Bacolod.
