THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed murder complaints with the Department of Justice (DOJ) against the policemen involved in the killing of suspected drug runner 17-year-old Kian Delos Santos.

Slapped with said criminal charges are PO3 Arnel Oares, PO1 Jerwin Cruz, and PO1 Jeremias Pereda.

Aside from murder, the three are also facing complaints for violation of domicile under the Revised Penal Code and planting of evidence.

Station 7 head Chief Inspector Amor Cerillo was likewise charged for the same.

The four Caloocan cops are facing separate criminal complaints for murder and torture filed by Kian's parents, Saldy and Lorenza, also with the DOJ.

The department, through the National Prosecution Service, is yet to designate a panel of prosecutors for the two complaints filed against the Caloocan policemen.

Kian was shot thrice by the above-named police conducting an anti-drug sweep in Caloocan in the evening of August 16.

The policemen earlier said Kian fired at them first as he was escaping. This was denied by the family and the witnesses after they have seen a CCTV footage showing how the policemen dragged Kian minutes before he was shot.

A witness to the crime earlier said Kian pleaded for his life. (SunStar Philippines)
