Negrenses told to brace for more rains

John Roger "Darlah" Orquiza

THE Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD) told Negrenses to brace for more rains in the coming days due to a combination of the tailend of cold front and the northeast monsoon.

“The problem here is the cold front smacked over in the eastern Visayas region,” said PDMPD chief Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian.

He added that the presence of the weather system is generating more precipitation and cloud cover.

Caelian said Negrenses would be able to enjoy some good weather once the coldfront disappears although rainy condition and cold weather could still last until at least late February and even March.

He added that over the weekend, they have not recorded any incident of flooding or incident which can be attributed to the bad weather.

Caelian said the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices in the province have been instructed to give updates and monitor the weather.
