Negros Island Region provincial board members elect officers

THE Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines-Negros Island Region elected its officers during a meeting held at Bethel Hotel in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental Thursday.

Negros Oriental Second District Board Member Mariant Escaño-Villegas was elected chairman while Negros Occidental Fifth District Board Member

Alain Gatuslao was elected vice chairman.

Other officials all came from Negros Occidental. These include Board Members Salvador Escalante Jr. of second district, secretary-general; Victor Javellana of fourth district, auditor; Rommel Debulgado of first district, Manuel Frederick Ko of third distict and Pedro Zayco of sixth district, board of directors.

Gatuslao, who is on his second term, said this is the first council meeting and election since the creation of the Negros Island Region in May 2015.

Also present during the election were Negros Oriental Vice Governor Edward Mark Macias, representatives from the National Provincial Board Members-League of the Philippines, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.(MPE)
