Noynoy defends track record (4:08 p.m.)

MANILA -- Liberal Party standard bearer Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III defended his weak track record in Congress as Tarlac representative in another presidential forum.

Aquino said he only filed bills and resolutions “that were essential” instead of filing anything just to be able to credit bills to his name.

“If I wanted to have statistics, I have 10,000 bills filed in my name… that would be easy. But how does that help anyone in Tarlac or the country? I would not even divide measure into components,” he said.

The presidential aspirant cited he filed three times for a bill that will hold contractors of public roads accountable in case of early damage but the bill was never granted a single hearing. (Angela Casauay/Sunnex)
