P1-M bounty set for Ronnie Dayan

THE Volunteer Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) said Tuesday it is offering P1 million for information on the whereabouts of Ronnie Dayan, the former security aide and lover of Senator Leila de Lima.

Dayan has an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the House of the Representatives after he failed to show up in the congressional inquiry on the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).

Earlier, the VACC initially offered P100,000 for the arrest of Dayan.

"This P1 million is for information leading to the arrest of Mr. Ronnie Dayan y Palisoc who is the subject of a warrant of arrest from the House of Representatives for contempt on the Committee on Justice for failing to appear despite proper service of subpoena," VACC legal counsel Ferdinand Topacio said.

He said they are more confident now that Dayan will be arrested.

Topacio said the money was donated by seven businessmen whom he refused to identify.

"May isa akong kaibigan, actually dalawa na nagsabing, 'Bakit hindi tayo magkaroon ng reward para kay Dayan?' Nag-pledge sila P100,000... Nag-uusap lang kami over dinner... tapos nag-snowball, naging P1 million," he said.

Topacio said they are coordinating with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) who will be responsible in validating information that will be given to them.

Topacio said they also tapped the CIDG for the security and protection of the possible informants. (Sunnex)
