MEMBERS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), local police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) uprooted and burned around P2 million worth of marijuana at Sitio Bana, Tacadang, Benguet in a two-day eradication operation.

From March 19 to 20, authorities implemented "Oplan Bana" which resulted to the destruction of 8,700 fully-grown marijuana plants and 2.4 kilos of marijuana stalks sourced from five cultivation sites.

The anti-illegal drug campaign in Kibungan is part of PDEA's thrust in clearing the community of illegal hemp that is still considered as prohibited under present laws.
