P31-M Mexico infra projects inaugurated

John Elmer Ubaldo

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Third district Representative Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales led the inauguration of P31 million infrastructure projects in various parts of Mexico town on Saturday.

Gonzales said the projects are part of his commitment to build “impact projects” that would greatly help generations of residents in Mexico.

The said projects included the San Nicolas road, barangay hall and covered court, as well as covered courts and barangay halls for Barangays San Isidro Laug, San Roque and Sto. Domingo.

Gonzales said the projects have been under construction some two months ago and were constructed upon the clamor of local residents and officials.

He said only some five percent of all covered courts in the third district await construction.

The third district is composed of the City of San Fernando and the towns of Sta. Ana, Mexico, Bacolor and Arayat, with some 145 villages.

“In my term, I have little by little moved away from short term projects that yield only minimal effects on the community and our constituents.  Currently, we are moving to impact projects.  After the full construction of all covered courts here we will proceed with the completion of construction of small barangay halls to fit the needs of our local leaders,” Gonzales said.

Some 25 barangay halls have been constructed initially, while school buildings and health centers are also undergoing construction, Gonzales added.
