PABLO Lorenzo National High School (PLNHS) and Davao City National High School (DCNHS) ruled the boys and girls 15 years old and under divisions, respectively, of the 78th Araw ng Dabaw Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.

PLNHS demolished DCNHS, 25-19, 25-16, in the boys finals. University of the Immaculate of Conception (UIC) and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) took the next two spots.

Special awardees were Rex T. Paller (most valuable player, best attacker), John Rey Mag-aso of DCNHS (best scorer), Mark Anthony Dauz (best blocker), Nicole John Benico of DCNHS (best setter), Joma Jalan Crisostomo (best server), Jimuel Guial (best digger/receiver) and Ron Mirasol (best coach).

In the girls class, DCNHS spikers blasted UIC, 25-12, 25-21. Bannered by high-leaping attackers Lycha Crisanto Ebon and Lyle Darren Barrida Amora, DCNHS took control as UIC's defense lost steam.

UIC mounted a 4-0 rally but failed to keep the momentum, enabling DCNHS to regroup and bounce back.

Special awardees were Ebon (MVP, best attacker), Gallentes (best scorer), Marielle Guiral of UIC (best blocker), Heaven Leigh Amisola of UIC (best server), Borres (best setter), Nicole Kate Bacamante of UIC (best digger/receiver) and the Cristy Balbon (best coach).
