POLICE said members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) recovered Wednesday a Pakistani national who was kidnapped by unidentified armed men in Maguindanao province.

Waseem Sajjad Kahan, a Pakistani national, was snatched by suspected members of a kidnap-for-ransom gang after collecting debt payments at a public market in Barangay Dalican in Datu Odin Sinsuat town Tuesday afternoon.

A television report said the group of men demanded a P6 million ransom for the foreign national’s release but Kahan managed to escape from his captors on Wednesday.

He eventually found his way to an MNLF camp in Barangay Dalican. The MNLF members at Camp Ibrahim immediately turned him to police on late Wednesday.

Police are still investigating the incident. (Sunnex)
