MANILA -- A Malacanang official pooh-poohed the threat of Liberal Party standard bearer Senator Noynoy Aquino to take the streets and protest the ruling of the Supreme Court (SC) allowing President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to appoint the next chief justice despite election ban.

Chief Presidential Spokesperson Ricardo Saludo on his weekly press briefing Wednesday said that this new pronouncement of Aquino is another campaign tactic of the presidential aspirant.

“This is a time when candidates will try to stage events that will grab media attention. That is part of the electioneering,” Saludo said. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
