DAGUPAN CITY -- A wide part of central Pangasinan will experience a 10-hour power interruption on Sunday, February 12, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced Wednesday.

Melba Batario, NGCP regional communications officer, said the power interruption will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will affect the areas being serviced by the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperation (Cenpelco), namely: Malasiqui, San Carlos, Binmaley, Lingayen, Bugallon, Mangatarem, and Urbiztondo.

Reason for the power interruption is the annual preventive maintenance and testing of power transformer at Labrador substation simultaneous with transmission line maintenance and testing of Cenpelco’s Binmaley metering equipment.

NGCP has advised customers and the general public to take necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruption.

NGCP enjoined the public to always consider all lines energized, as power may be restored earlier than scheduled.

Specific areas that may be affected by the power interruption are determined by the affected electric cooperative. (PNA)
