Pastor shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen

AUTHORITIES are now increasing its police presence in Atok, Benguet after motorcycle-riding gunmen shot a pastor at Kilometer 22 in Barangay Caliking, Atok.

Pastor Jonathan Costina Pasigon, 32, was shot in the head by still unidentified suspects last week.

Police said the incident happened in the boundary of Atok and Tublay.

According to initial investigation, the suspects immediately disposed the motorcycle and fled with their getaway car.

Benguet Provincial director Police Senior Superintendent Lyndon Mencio said this is the first shooting case involving motorcycle-riding gunmen in the province.

"First time na may nangyari shooting incident and we have formed special investigation task group in the provincial level," Mencio said. "Ongoing po iyong investigation natin, may lead po tayong finafollow up lalo na nagcooperate na iyong mga immediate family ng victim."
