MANILA -- The Philippine Patriots wanted to stage a 2-0 cushion on its finals square off with the visiting Satria Muda BritAma at the Arena in San Juan City.

Gametime is set at 8 p.m. as the Louie Alas-led team vowed to improve its defense after a Game 1 squeaker last week.

“We used the past three days to review and perfect our plays especially on the defensive end,” said Alas.

“Our barometer in winning our past games was our defense but we got contented in trying to outscore Satria Muda BritAma in our last game. We will have an easier time if will be defend properly and I hope we can do this in Game Two,” he added.

On their first meeting, the Patriots bucked a third quarter rally of the Indonesians to zoom past its rival, 78-68, last February 12 at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.

Import Gabe Freeman made a breakout performance while compatriot Jason Dixon delivered the defensive end to give the Patriots an early lead in the best-of-five championship series. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
