ACER Philippines is seeing a consistent growth of personal computer (PC) and laptop sales in the Philippines driven by the growth of eSports.

Acer Philippines marcomms lead for consumer business, JB Aquino, said five percent of the PC and laptop sales of Acer Philippines can be credited to the gaming consumers in the country, with Cebu and Davao posting higher sales growth.

“Gaming enthusiasts in these areas spend generously in these products,” said Aquino. “They have high disposable income for high-end items.”

He said that a hard core eSports gamer spends some P180,000 for a complete and high-speed gaming PC.

Aquino reported that when they released their gaming lineup in the Philippines last year, this caused a bit of a stir in the PC market. “We became the fast-growing gaming brand in the Philippines,” he said.
