AGENTS of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and policemen are guarding the hospitalized Barangay 35 village chief Manuel Huelar Jr. of Bacolod City, who was arrested and charged for sale and possession of drugs last week.

Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Jr., chief of Police Station 8, said that as of Sunday, Huelar has been confined at South Bacolod General Hospital (SBGH) for three days already.

He said they are still waiting for the medical diagnosis.

Last December 1, Huelar was first rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital after he had an asthma attack. The following day, he was confined at SBGH after he suffered vomiting inside the detention cell.

Benoman said he already asked for a certificate of confinement from the hospital to be submitted to the City Prosecutor's Office.

Huelar, together with two others, was arrested by agents of the PDEA-NIR during a drug bust inside a pension house at Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod on November 28. (GYM)
