PhilHealth introduces new claim forms

Sunnexdesk

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Northern Mindanao has introduced an enhanced claim forms to more than 200 medical clerks from different hospitals in the region over the weekend.

Merlyn Ybañez, PhilHealth public relations officer, said the new claim form is more simplified than the previous one as details for filling-up are summarized to provide convenience to both the patients and the in-charge of claims in hospitals.

Ybañez said four batches of around 40 to 50 medical clerks in each batch have undergone an orientation on the application using new forms in claiming reimbursements with PhilHealth.

She said the half-day orientation was personally undertaken by Dr. Ester Ricardo of PhilHealth’s health care delivery management division.

“Previously, claimants are filling up a lot of forms. But now, we enhanced it to be more simple yet detailed and comprehensive,” Ybañez said.

After the orientation, she said the medical clerks would now have the duty to impart the learning they got from the orientation to their respective clients or patients.

“We topped the medical clerks in the orientation because they are the ones being approached every time the patients or hospital clients need some claims,” Ybañez said. (Loui S. Maliza)
