REIGNING queen Pia Wurtzbach wore the iconic Mikimoto crown for her last photo shoot as Miss Universe.

The Filipina beauty dazzled in a red beaded Michael Cinco gown with the phoenix inspired Mikimoto head piece reportedly worth about $200,000.

It features 500 diamonds weighing almost 30 carats, more than a hundred white South Sea pearls and Akoya pearls, which started Kokichi Mikimoto's pearl cultivation enterprise in Japan.

The Mikimoto crown was given to Miss Universe winners from 2002 to 2007.

On Monday, January 30, Wurtzbach will crown her successor at the 65th Miss Universe pageant to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

American television personality Steve Harvey will host the pageant and backstage access with model Ashley Graham. (SunStar Philippines)
