FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City -- The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is set to welcome 208 new cadets on April 1 during reception ceremonies here.

PMA Information chief Captain Agnes Lynette Flores said: “We are excited to welcome the new [cadets] and we are also looking forward to continue our mission to train new leaders for the nation.”

The new cadets will be from PMA Class 2014.

The Initial list is composed of 181 males and 27 females with a total of 208 highly selected youths from across the archipelago.

The result came after a series of deliberation and selection conducted by the Cadet Procurement Board headed by its chairman and at the same time the Superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy, Vice Admiral Leonardo Calderon Jr.

An additional list of members will be added after final deliberation by the Cadet Procurement Board in the selection of 177 who are still in the process of submitting their individual medical certificates.

The names of the selected Cadet Candidates will be added to the 208 initial lists of incoming members of PMA Class 2014.

The Cadet Procurement Board, however, gave the 177 until 18 March to comply, otherwise, their names will be deleted from the selection list. (PR)
