Police camp hosts rehab center for drug dependents

IDENTIFIED drug dependents who surrendered under Operation Tokhang (knock and plead) and based in six villages surrounding Camp Martin Delgado of the Iloilo City Police Regional Office (PRO) are currently undergoing free drug rehabilitation and treatment.

The community-based drug rehabilitation program coordinated by the City Government is conducted inside the police camp and administered by the Sobering Our Barangay and Empowering Recovery (Sober) Intervention Team, a community-based rehabilitation treatment program (CBRTP) pathway to Recovery Program Foundation Incorporated based in Cagayan de Oro City.

Police Chief Superintendent Jose Gentiles said the drug surrenderees are from each of the villages of Concepcion, Rizal Ibarra, Zamora, Duran, Sto. Rosario, and Dela Rama.

PRO Information Officer Gilbert Gorero said the sessions are conducted four hours a day from Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Camp Delgado Chapel and whole day for Saturday.
