A POLISH lawyer was arrested after he tried to run away when he was accused of raping a woman inside a hotel in Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City, Friday dawn.

Jerzy Krzysztof Horbaczewski, 59, from Poland, allegedly raped a 27-year-old woman who hails from Barangay Mambaling inside Mango Park Hotel.

The incident was reported to the Parian Police Station at 3 a.m. Friday, March 10.

A hot pursuit operation was launched, leading to the arrest of the Polish around 11 a.m.

Horbaczewski is currently detained at the Tourist Police Unit of the Cebu City Police Office. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
