CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Some 1,000 residents of Barangay San Jose in San Simon town received relief items from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) recently.

The relief distribution was personally attended by PRC Chairman Richard Gordon and officers and volunteers of PRC in Pampanga.

City of San Fernando Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, a ranking officer of the PRC in Pampanga said that the beneficiaries received relief packs and bedding items from PRC. He added that the relief distribution was aimed at assisting the affected families of the recent flooding last December.

It could be remembered that rainwater from the mountains of Aurora province and Sierra Madre and major dams in Luzon released water that caused major flooding in Pampanga and Bulacan.

Barangay San Jose was among the 27 low-lying villages in five Pampanga towns that were flooded according to the Pampanga Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Office.
