Remove cigarette ads, Davao stores told

DAVAO City Anti-Smoking Task Force on Thursday urged store owners to remove posters that advertise cigarette and tobacco products.

Dr. Domilyn Villareiz, task force co-chair, said the advertisements are by banned the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003 (Republic Act 9211).

Violators face a P100,000 fine or imprisonment of not more than one year.

The task force apprehended 4,613 violators last year.

From January to April this year, there have 2,168 apprehensions. (Sun.Star Davao)
