ANGELES CITY -- Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez has underscored the need to modernize the Subic Bay and Clark international airports to address the worsening air traffic congestion at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Romualdez, a lawyer and president of the Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa), said the national government should prioritize the full development and utilization of the two airports in Pampanga and Zambales.

Modernizing the two airports will solve the traffic problem in Metro Manila, according to him.

“The modernization of the two airports will further boost Pampanga and

Zambales as best tourist destinations in Luzon,” Romualdez said.

Romualdez’s key platform is focus on improving jobs, health, education, agriculture and disaster preparedness.

He said the Subic International Airport was used as back-up airport for the delegates of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit during the time of the Ramos administration.

Romualdez reiterated his call for the country’s transport officials to

expedite its action in addressing the horrible air traffic congestion

at NAIA.

Romualdez is a son of Most Outstanding Kapampangan for Parenthood Awardee Juliette Gomez Romualdez of Mabalacat City and former Leyte Governor and Ambassador Benjamin Romualdez. He is eyeing a senatorial seat this coming elections.
