MANILA - Former senator Mar Roxas confirmed the filing of an electoral protest after losing to Vice President Jejomar Binay in the May 10 elections.Roxas was guest speaker of the US-Pinoy for Good Governance conference.

In a television interview, Roxas said he is pushing through with his election protest in connection with the over 2 million null votes that he says were never counted in his favor.

Roxas said the poll protest is one of the reasons why he did not attended the inauguration of President Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday.

"Araw ni Pangulong Noynoy yon at para wala nang estorya at pagbibigay respeto ay dumalaw na lang ako sa kanyang tahanan bago siya umalis patungong inauguration," Roxas was quoted as saying.

According to Roxas, President Aquino even gave his blessings on his move to proceed with the filing of an election protest.

The President, Roxas said also wanted to find out if the automated elections employed in the last elections was not flawed.(Sunnex)
