RP marks Ninoy's death anniversary (11:22 a.m.)

THE country commemorated Saturday the 27th death anniversary of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. who played a big role in ending the Martial Law regime of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

Filipinos took part in wreath-laying activities at the People Power Monument in Edsa.

Most of the participants led by the Yellow Ribbon Movement (YRM), Spirit of Edsa Foundation, and Edsa People Power Commission wore yellow shirts.

After the activity, a mass was conducted. President Benigno Aquino III's sister, Viel Aqiuno-Dee, attended the Holy Eucharist.

Aquino supporters also attended a wreath-laying ceremony in Manila at 7 a.m.

Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, also a President's sister, attended the activity.

Aquino-Cruz in her speech said they have already forgiven those responsible for the death of her father. (Sunnex)
