THE body of an alleged victim of summary execution was found at Purok Wawa, Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police identified the victim as Berlyn Evangelista, 21, of Purok Riverside, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.

Police Officer 3 George Romo, investigator of Murcia Municipal Police Station, said Monday Evangelista was found with wounds on his back and his head.

He said the hands of the victim were tied with a cord of a cellular phone.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime a live ammunition of .45 caliber and a bullet shell of .45 caliber.

Romo said Evangelista was brutally killed in the area and they are still conducting further investigation to determine the identity of the suspects.

He said the body of the victim will be subjected for an autopsy.

Cherry Evangelista, wife of the victim, told the police that on Saturday evening, her husband asked permission to go to an internet station near their village.

When he called her husband, she heard him shouting, asking her to see him at a police station.

When she and her family went to Police Station 2, they found her father’s tricycle that was borrowed by her husband, but he was not detained in the station.

She was later informed that her husband was arrested by a police officer for alleged possession of illegal drugs and he was forced to board a black vehicle.(MAP)
