RELIEVED. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) officials tagged in the kidnapping and killing of South Korean businessman Jee Ick-joo have been relieved from their post.

KILLED. Three soldiers from the Army's 8th Infantry Battalion (8IB) were killed by New People's Army (NPA) rebels in Barangay Kibalabag, Malaybalay City, around 5 p.m. of February 1, several hours after the communist rebels withdrew their unilateral ceasefire.

DANGER. The 135 sinkholes found in the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) can be "dangerous" but will definitely not cause the collapse of the island, Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB)-Davao Region Geosciences Division officer-in-charge Abigail Agoc said.
