SHS-Ateneo blanks Springdale, 8-0

SHS-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) is off to the finals of the Boys Under-15 division of 18th Aboitiz Football Cup after a one-sided 8-0 beating of Paref-Springdale at the Magone pitch of Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC).

King Baclado led the Magis Eagles’ charge with five goals, Jacob Braun added two, while Ethan Deller hit one goal.

The other semifinal match between DBTC A and Abellana National School (ANS) was moved for today at 1 p.m. still at the DBTC Magone pitch.

In the the Boys Under-13 division, Giuseppe FC totally outclassed St. Theresa’s College (STC), 23-0, while DBTC B crushed Cebu International School (CIS) In the Boys Under-18 division at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC), ANS forced a 2-2 draw with SHS-AdC.

John Eduave scored in the sixth minute to give the Magis Eagles the early lead but Kurt Cuizon equalized near the end of the first half with a goal in the 43rd minute.

Nao Ozawa scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute before Arnel Armamento hit the timely equalizer in the 89th to force a draw.

The three other Under-18 matches, CIS vs. DBTC, Marigondon vs. Danao and Paref-Springdale vs. Balamban ended up in default.

In today’s matches, DBTC A faces SHS-AdC A and STC takes on DBTC B in the Boys Under-13 division at the DBTC Magone pitch.

Meanwhile at the CCSC field, Samba locks horns with University of San Carlos (USC), University of San Jose-Recoloetos squares off with Don Bosco United FC, Erco BRO is playing against Avengers and University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) faces Suzuki FC in the Men’s Open division.
