THE kin of slain farm leader in Kabankalan City has sought justice for his death.

Donna Argabio said Monday the police are still investigating the death of her father Webby Argabio, council member of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas-Kabankalan City Chapter.

On November 8, the elder Argabio was shot to death by four unidentified persons.

The victim’s family is looking at land conflict as the motive.

Donna said her father had been defending the rights of farmers.

She said the land they are farming, which is already covered by certificates of land ownership award, is being reclaimed.

Meanwhile, the September 21 Movement-Southern Negros condemned the killing.

The group said the incident is “an attack on legitimate struggle and rights of the farmers to till the land.” (MPE)
