SM Pampanga, mall goers join nationwide earthquake drill

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- SM City Pampanga and mall goers participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) that aimed to keep mall goers, tenants and mall officials alert in case of an earthquake that may affect the mall.

The event is a quarterly National Distaste Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)-led activity that seeks to educate the public on disaster preparedness against earthquakes and to showcase government capability on disaster response.

SM City Pampanga, San Fernando Downtown, and SM Savemore Market Apalit employees, tenants, staff and made it even bigger this year by enjoining mall customers on simulated earthquake and evacuation drill.

This is the first time that SM malls hosted the earthquake drill during mall hours and urged the participation of mall goers.

SM City Pampanga Public Relations Manager Rain Cervantes said that the mall has continuous promotion in providing education and awareness to its front liners and partners on these natural and/or man-made catastrophes by conducting regular seminars on safety and evacuation.
