Small town lottery operator caught for keeping unlicensed gun

A 47-YEAR-OLD small town lottery operator was arrested at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, for allegedly keeping an unlicensed firearm in Sitio Tap-anan, Barangay Basdiot, Moalboal, Cebu.

Superintendent Rene Kyamco, Cebu Police Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) chief, identified the suspect as Apolinario Alquizar Dayupay Jr.

A .45 pistol loaded with four bullets were seized from the suspect, who is on bail after he was caught for illegal drug possession.

The operation was authorized by a search warrant issued by Talisay City Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Jacinto Fajardo.

The personnel of Regional Mobile Unit 7, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cebu South and Moalboal Police Station also joined in the raid.

Dayupay will be facing complaints for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition before the provincial prosecutor's office. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
