Some Davao bus companies to ground units on Good Friday

AN OFFICIAL of the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) advised Holy Week travelers to return to their hometowns by Maundy Thursday because some bus companies will not be fielding units on Good Friday.

DCOTT General Manager Alejandro Alilin said Tuesday up to 60,000 passengers are expected to stream out of the city starting Wednesday.

Alilin said the terminal usually handles 35,000 to 40,000 passengers daily.

"For those who cannot avoid traveling this Thursday, they should go early because sometimes we cannot avoid that some buses get stranded in some areas," he said.

A copy of DCOTT'S schedule showed that only buses from Bachelor Express Sto. Tomas, Bachelor Express Northbound and Weena Express will be running on Good Friday.

The rest of the bus firms will resume operations on Saturday. (KGL)
