MORE than 1,000 runners are expected to join the St. Ignatius Day Run tomorrow at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Campus in Mandaue City.

Though there is another run scheduled on Sunday also in Mandaue, organizer Jose Vicente R. Cañizares said they are confident they will get the expected number.

“We already have more than 1,000 runners who registered and most of them are Sacred Hearters,” said co-organizer Joshua Pritchard.

He said runners can still sign up at the SHS-Ateneo de Cebu campus until today.

The race will feature 3K, 5K and 10K distances for men and women. There will also be a 10K division exclusive for SHS-Ateneo de Cebu alumni.

The group will also have a 400-meter run exclusively for Grades 3 to 6 pupils of SHS-Ateneo de Cebu at the school’s track oval.
