PARTYPHILE and host Tim Yap was recently in Ayala Center Cebu with America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) finalist Allison Harvard for the Ayala Malls Style Origins fashion event. The two style icons dished out their fashion and personal style advice to an excited Cebuano audience, including four lucky students who were personally styled by Tim and Allison themselves.

Allison described her personal style as girly and grunge, with her father and Courtney Love as her fashion icons. “Always feel comfortable in what you’re wearing,” she said, “and have an imagination.” Her unusual piece of style advice was to have a few wigs for quick, commitment-free changes to your look.

Tim encourages people to experiment and have a sense of adventure by going beyond the basics and being unafraid to wear prints and color. He said it helps to visualize your looks beforehand and have a “secret style council” of trusted friends to give you style tips and honest advice on whether something is working for you or not. Tim said to “always have the best attitude and be an original version of yourself” when it comes to fashion. Don’t just follow trends or copy other people.

“We need to push our fashion to go to the next level,” he urges of the Philippine fashion scene. “If we get our acts together, we can go to the peak of where our industry is supposed to go.”
