POLICE have already established the identities of the suspects involved in the robbery-slay of a Taiwanese national in Zamboanga City.

But Senior Superintendent Edwin De Ocampo, officer-in-charge of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), said they have yet to arrest any of the suspects involved in the incident.

Taiy Guan Te, 54, who managed a poultry farm in the village of Talabaan, 18 kilometers east of Zamboanga, was killed when three gunmen barged into his residence and carted away undetermined amount of valuables.

Te, his wife, and a security guard were eating dinner when the incident happened.

Though they have established the suspects’ identities, De Ocampo said he could not yet reveal the identities of the three gunmen, two of whom were using ski masks during the incident.

“May grupo ito (the suspects). Hindi ko pa puedeng sabihin (the suspects belong to a group… I cannot reveal details),” De Ocampo answered when asked if the suspects are members of a crime syndicate group.

“We have leads who are members of the group,” De Ocampo added. (Bong Garcia/Sunnex)
